Three provinces plan joint tourism representative office in Japan
Three central provinces are planning to set up a joint representative office in Japan as part of a program to attract tourists from there.

Special activities to mark National Tourism Year 2011
National Tourism Year 2011 which highlights the southern central coastal region will kick off in Phu Yen Province on April 1. The organising board said at a press on January 25 that an artistic programme to celebrate the 400th founding anniversary of Phu Yen Province will also take place.

2,500 maritime visitors arrive in Quang Ninh
The Saigon Travel Service Company (Saigontourist) on January 25 welcomed 2,500 foreign tourists and crew sailing aboard the cruise liner Costa Classica, which docked in Halong City, in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The slow boat to Phu Quy Island
Phu Quy Island, also called Thu or Khoai Islet, is 120km from Phan Thiet City, between the mainland and Truong Sa Archipelago. The island covers 16 square kilometers and has many cultural and religious relics typical of central coast farming communities.

Exhibition of VN artistic works held in France
An exhibition of Vietnamese paintings and literature works is taking place in the French southwestern city of Chaniers from January 10-26. Initiated by Béatrice Vedrenne, the city’s librarian, the event is held with the support of the Association of Open Hands (Mains ouvertes).

A conference on tourism promotion for the central Province of Thua Thien-Hue has been held in Hanoi to introduce tourism services and cultural programmes to the Province this year.
Visiting Can Tho City through paintings
The bilingual Vietnamese-English book named “Tham quan Can Tho qua tranh ve” (Visiting Can Tho through paintings), the first comic-style guide book for the Mekong Delta, was released on January 10.
Seminar to promote southern amateur music
The HCMC Cultural Heritage Department, the HCMC Academy of Music and HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held international press briefs on January 4 to announce a seminar on don ca tai tu (southern amateur music).
